"We may find no other art except architecture to be so closely linked to the daily life of people. man's living spaces during all historical eras and among all nations in displayed by architecture.

In the past, this art was subject to certain principles and enjoyed an unbreakable bond with manners and culture of that society, consequently the architectural style of each era reflected its contemporary culture.

Architectural transformation were in general connected  to changes in life styles and other arts. New styles were so strong that it was difficult to set definite perimeters for each one.

Emulation of western culture and civilization, starting in the early years of the present century not only affected our culture in general but it also had dire consequences for our architecture in particular. Traditional Iranian architecture before having a chance to adapt itself with a new condition and technologies fell in disfavor and since knowledge of this art was passed from one generation to the next, it was mostly forgotten in very short time.

In spite of efforts by artists and researchers, Iranian art and architecture are still losting ground to western cultural offensives."
